OPOS Service Objects
Datalogic's OPOS Service Objects enable retailers to easily integrate Datalogic scanners with their point-of-sale applications. With full support for popular Windows operating systems, Datalogic's OPOS drivers allow retailers to easily connect a variety of Datalogic scanning products to the point-of-sale terminal running any OPOS-compliant application. The customer's investment in their application is protected, because Datalogic OPOS software is written and tested to the Unified POS specification.
OPOS Version
Datalogic's OPOS Service Objects or "drivers" are written to the UPOS specification. The version number of the drivers is correlated to the UPOS specification version; for example, OPOS 1.8.6 refers to the 1.8 UPOS spec; software release 6.
Operating System Support
Datalogic's OPOS services have been developed and tested on the following operating systems:
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP (Pro and Embedded*)
* XPe configurations can vary; low level drivers must include HID drivers for USB devices as part of the XPe package.

Configuration and Test Utilities
Datalogic's OPOS solution ships with a simple configuration tool that helps the customer's IT department configure Datalogic scanners. A simple OPOS test application is also available for verifying basic operation of the software in the customer's environment.
